Arber Day: Invasive Plant ID Walk
Date: April 24, 2026 Time: 5:00 - 6:30 pm
Place: Laughing Earth Farm
Address: 3842 NY-2, Cropseyville, NY 12052
Join ASA Stewardship Assistant Sean Murphy and the Capital District Chapter of the New York Forest Owners Association (NYFOA-CDC) at Laughing Earth Farm for an Arbor Day walk focused on identifying invasive plants in the spring landscape.
This outing is geared toward those with little to no experience in plant identification and offers a welcoming opportunity to build confidence while learning what to look for.
The walk will explore the farm’s fields and spring woods, where early growth makes many invasive species easier to spot. Participants will learn to recognize a variety of common invasives and discuss why early spring is a critical window for management, with practical tips and resources on how to get a head start on control efforts.
This outing is suitable for all ages and experience levels and will involve a casual walk over uneven terrain.
