Tour De Farm Bike Ride
Celebrates the Farmland of Southern Washington County

Join the Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) on Sunday, July 13, 2008 for Tour de Farm, a supported 21.5-mile bike ride or drive it yourself tour through Washington County’s scenic rural landscape that starts and ends at Cambridge Farmers’ Market.  Bikers will ride by four protected farms, tour a working dairy and stop at Moses Farmstand and Perry’s Orchard.

Registration begins at 8:30, and bike tours will start at 9:00 am and 9:30 am. Registration and parking will be behind Hubbard Hall Projects in Cambridge, NY off Washington Street. The cost is $20 for individuals or $30 for families and includes 2008 ASA membership.  The ride also includes guides from Cambridge Valley Cyclists, a support van, a detailed map and informational materials, refreshments at stops, and discount coupons for produce stands.

Participants will enjoy this special opportunity to see our working landscapes from a bicycle and learn how protecting farmland strengthens our agricultural economy and benefits the entire community by providing fresh food, clean air and water plus beautiful landscapes for all to enjoy.

The tour is sponsored by an ASA partnership with Cambridge Valley Cyclists and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Washington County. For more information call 518-692-7285, and to register go to this direct link: http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=6678.
