ASA Receives Grant Awards
GREENWICH, NY - The Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) was awarded $32,000 in grants through the New York Conservation Partnership Program between the New York Department of Environmental Conservation and the Land Trust Alliance (LTA). The grants provide ASA with matching funds to develop a conservation project along the Battenkill River, assist the organization with capacity building, and to assist with the costs of an easement acquisition. "These grants will enable us to pursue exciting new conservation projects," says Executive Director Teri Ptacek. ASA was the only organization to receive funding in all three categories.
The Land Trust Alliance administers the Conservation Partnership Program, which was designed to enhance local open space conservation programs throughout New York. LTA is a national non-profit land conservation organization that provides information, training and resources to local land trusts to assist them with their conservation efforts.
